Old Sacramento is also home to five museums, including the California State Railroad Museum and the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum, giving you plenty of opportunities to really immerse yourself in the area’s history.

Sutter's Fort in Sacramento, USA

Tour Sutter’s Fort
Sutter’s Fort was built in the 1840’s by John Sutter, as a way to protect himself, as well as his crops and land, of which there were 150,000 acres. This became a hub for immigrants who travelled to the West, as many ended up settling here and helping to harvest all of the produce that was grown within the fort. Today, the fort has been restored to resemble its original appearance from the 1840’s, and there are tours offered throughout the day.

A Day at Fairytale Town
For those visiting Sacramento with young children, Fairytale Town is a must-visit. Although this may not be as modern as some of the other theme parks in the area, younger children will be thrilled at the concept of the park, which features characters and play sets from some of the most popular fairytales out there. There are also live animals that the youngsters can meet, from Peter Rabbit to Mary’s little lambs, resulting in a day filled with magic and excitement.
